The Waiting for 'Land of Oz' and new tunes from Strum

Jet packing around the grid - checking out SL's music scene...

I am waiting for my personal Pete Mroz album to arrive any day.  It was released today! Saturday, August 1st.  Yup, I already pre-ordered "Land of Oz" from his website

Below, you can sample the bonus track of his new LP...

 Strum - Good Man

Strum Diesel (Sean Kagalis) noted last night, he was working on a demo as he offered up some new tunes while performing in Second Life -  so I checked the web after the show and found this July 17th (2015) acoustic video performance;  'Good Man' is very worth watching/hearing.  By the way, follow Strum on Twitter and Instagram (his preferred social media it seems) for quick updates.   Then there is the story of how he met his hubby - in "Funnel Cake and Lemonade" - you gotta love Strum, the wordsmith of song. And then there's this one, from June, featured on REVERBNATION - Low.

From Feb. 25, 2015, 'Funnel Cake and Lemondade'

Stum's new studio space in the making (Twitter-ed yesterday)

I will be playing these songs and more during my show Slow Bake on SL Live Radio - Sunday, August 2, 2015, noon to 2 PM SLT.

If you are a musician and/or fan, music lover, lover of djs, or whatever, any reason will do, drop into our studios at Misty Falls.

Kickin' Summer into Gear

It's summer, and I have some catching up to do! I dropped in a few places to see what's shakin' - and the music scene is always lively on the grid. I just got back from hangin' in New England and the Big NYC (and not talking about Lingual's The Roof - but that was one of my first stops when coming back in town).

So here's the music scene in pics.  Last night, I dropped into The Roof's pre-4th of July party - and enjoyed the usual exceptional line-up served up by Ling.   AMFORTE Clarity was stunningly beautiful as usual, with vocal cords that will melt your soul.  It was great to see Strum Diesel, who is working on a new music project - so glad to hear that and looking forward to it!   Lazarus Doghouse, folksy talented musician/storyteller, dropped in to listen and mingle.

Porter Paquot followed AMFORTE, and was her usual amazing self and so cute in her red gown with sparklers!

Also, I had the pleasure to catch rockin' Wayne Davis (WayneDavisRocks) at Sherie's Gaslight - that was my first time hearing him -

and he definitely knows his stuff, a great musician who's been around in RL and SL.

Then, tonight I listened to the fab voice of Gina Stella, while saying hello to Blueron Clyburn, who just finished his set, at TwoMoon Paradise's Mer Garden. He's back home on the East Coast, after performing at this year's Chicago jam, organized by Anek Fuchs and Gina Stella.

Gina looked lovely as mermaid, and so did Blue (see past blog). Sher is back managing Gina. TerryLynn was in the audience. And the lovely TMP Owner Shiran Sabra was on hand, lovely as ever, greeting all.

That's just a quick look around, now that I am back in SL from my RL adventure.  I caught The Follow's Powers Avon at The Roof - his shirt says it all about how busy the band has been and is!

Catch you on the grid and on BOSL radio for some SL jams, hot off the grid, in a show I call Slow Bake, featuring SL musicians, Saturdays, 11am SLT. (Pic below, Deep House Island radio remote)

Special 9-11 Tribute Concert

I caught CraigLyons in action on Thursday night at Lions Gate. On Saturday, September 11th, he will close out the 9-11 tribute concert. It will be a fantastic day with a long line-up of 30 minute sets - same place, Lions Gate in Second Life.

See you there,

Get Lucky

Over the past few weeks, Strum Diesel launched a new album, and Mankind Tracer's third album was released yesterday on BOSL radio! Here's the scoop on the more than 3 year singing veteran Mankind and the release of his The Depth of Shadows.

Strum's new CD album, Lucky, was launched on a his new Lucky region!

The release party for his new album brought together loyal and new fans at his new region called Lucky, a performance space conceived by Strum and built and designed by Jacobo Sands, Rowan Argus, and Genevieve SIlvercloud. It is his "dream place" and includes a roof top performance park, lobby, space disco lounge, swing set, treehouse, and his mp3/album vendor, along with some other surprises. He is one of eight RL/SL artists featured on the sim hosted by Studio Genre. In celebration and support of the album, he invited Geos Copperfield, Tarragon Pelous, and the band Dead Heathers to perform during the launch festivities in 30 minute sets.

In his new album, Strum offers original, intelligent compositions with a grassroots message. To learn more about Strum (a.k.a. Sean), visit his site at http://www.myspace.com/seankagalis.

His Lucky performance space is at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ahura/159/41/39.

Starting Sunday, July 18th, I will be playing at least one hour of SL finest music - fresh off the grid, including selections from Strum and Mankind, among others.

Hope you tune in weekly.
