From STEAM to SIXTIES

Belinda and I made the rounds - a couple of fantastic parties on Friday night.  First it was Adele Kling's reception party for a flashback to the 60s featuring the work of artists - Galilla Sinatra, Tequila Krovac and Walter Gedenspire who shared their visions of the 1960s. 

Everyone was groovin' to some classic tunes, and we were all feeling the vibes from the art and fashion.  The photos tell a bit, and you can see more at the art gallery, Vintage Visions at New Toulouse Bourbon.

Then Bel and I were off to the STEAM 7 opening party, hosted by founder Perryn Peterson.   The launch took place at the New Arcadia Asylum Library (near the Freebie Center) at Mieville Wells, one of Perryn's ten Mieville sims, themed to reflect Victorian Steampunk in much of its diversity.  STEAM 7 starts TODAY (September 1st) at the Information Center in Mieville Doyle.  Also, refer to the blog - http://historicalhunts.blogspot.com/

A spacecraft landed in the midst of the party, and some little greenies joined the festivities.   We were all taken to our leader, Perryn and instructed to have a great time.

And then Bel concluded the night by taking some pics of our new Mon Tissu dresses - that is how our day started with some loose change and a desire to kick off the weekend by shopping.    I snapped a few photos as well...

anyway, here is Bel's masterpiece @ Flickr [a lovely pic that also captures the mood of our island].  Her photo shoot took us full circle to the beginning of our day - yup, back to what we do best, shopping.  Isn't that how any holiday weekend should start?!   For now....that's it!

Tristyn stirs Wild Girls; Nance Heats Up Wharf

Tristyn Homewood brought his homestyle mix of bluesy rock and pop, all with a southern flair, to the Wharf Cafe and Beach Venue.  This good ol' boy is a seasoned pro - his range can go from George Thorogood to Chris Isaak to Joe Cocker to ZZ Top, to a range of contemporary pop to classic rock to rockin' country - and even ballroom ballads.

He brings a visual experience to stage with his three piece band - McKenzie Homewood (guitar/sax), Susan Hereter (drums), and Cindi Mulford (keyboard).  

Of course, that is the act, but the truth is - the guy can sing.   You can feel his heart pulse through country and southern rock.  Still saying that, he can handle any genre.    Beyond that, he produces his own music machinima, http://www.youtube.com/TristynHomewood1.

The shame is he's been on the grid since 2007, and this is the first show I caught of him.  Shame on me!  So much talent on the grid, and I'm getting to them all one by one.

Following him was Nance Brody, with her luscious vocals and brilliant sense of (sensual) storytelling through music.  She brings to stage original songs and a powerful yet intimate stage presence.  She is another seasoned talent in the SL music scene.

The night started with the wonderful Claire Dirval who reminds me so much of Melissa Etheridge with her deep rich vocals.     Claire is certainly one of the most well known musicians in Second Life, and definitely is a joy to listen as a musician and an entertainer who connects with her audience.

Meow Meow - Egoisme's Purr-fect Catsuit

Where have I been?  Working, Wedding, Working.   Every Saturday, I get a chance to meet some wonderful people at the various BOSL radio remotes. This weekend we were at Maverick Design at Gizza Creations II. Hanging out with Ivy Maverick was her close friend, Ramses Meredith, who is releasing Egoisme's purr-fect Catsuit this Tuesday. I heard all the rave reviews during my show, and then I saw it for myself:  the red version looked beautifully wicked on Ivy.  That is probably when my song faded out and I had to quickly start the next one.   I think all of our jaws dropped - it has to be the best designed catsuit in SL and RL.

Later that afternoon, I had an opportunity to play with a few of them.  Of the many colors, I had some fun with the blue and white catsuit.   I don't usually discuss fashion here, but every radio dj needs a catsuit with her purrfect music set.   Thanks to Ivy Maverick, Persia Bravin, and Ramses for a peek at the latest in feminine feline fashion - and MESH I must add.   A few shots are included.

No firearms included, nor are they needed really for this dangerous outfit. Your curves in this number should knock them dead.   Belinda models the black version above.  Try heels for a sexier look, if that is
possible.  LOL.  Congrats to Ramses for another sexy creation.

And The Beat Goes On

May is winding down, and I had an opportunity to attend an amazing show with Blueron Clyburn.  He's one of the many musicians planning to attend the Chicago Jam from June 22 to 24.  Catch some of your favorite Second Life performers jamming for you in real life - and enjoy all the fun!    The event is organized and founded by SL's Anek Fuchs and Gina Stella.

She is an incredible talent, and joins the rank of so many top notch SL women singers like SweetLilly and AMForte (and others like Gina Stella not featured this time around).

Now back to the very blue Blueron Clyburn.  Blue (teal?) is his color as he adorns his lovely Merm-man fins.   He performed live yesterday at Two Moon Paradise's underwater venue.   It was my first time "underwater" at Two Moon, and my first time as a mermaid.  TPM is a great complex for live music and special events.

I invited Belinda Barnes to join me, and she readily was prepared, changing into something more appropriate for the event, looking lovely as always.   I slipped on my Purple Moon "mesh" mermaid gown that I purchased a couple of weeks ago and fitted it underwater as I listened to Blue.   (The thing about mesh is you are never truly nakey, just invisible, you gotta love that. No one noticed.)

All eyes were fixated on Blue at the piano.  Topless (with nothing but bubbles), he didn't miss a beat.  And his fins kept rhythm, I imagine.

Blue is wonderful at interpreting songs his way, and he's been around quite awhile as a performer in Second Life, and much longer in real life.  From New York to New Orleans, and back and then some.

Catch him finless in Chicago soon.   Tell him hi from Soni, because I will be in his neck of the woods, outside New York while he entertains ya'll in my home state.  Go figure!
