May I Listen? Yes, you Alex Mays!

Let's start with an introduction to blues by Amays (Alex Mays) and BLUE (Eddie Blue).  Alex is the front man/avatar in Second Life.  And both play together in Real Life like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RB-_FAZ1dzQ

You can catch Alex in the virtual world at all the popular venues, and then some. Now when artist rep. Sher Salmson says that a musician is talented, you can bet they are so.   I have known Sher nearly all my virtual life.    She has fairly much retired from music management, and is having fun with some other projects, including creating music machinima. 

There are some 'virtual' musicians who she is still ready to help, and among her favorites is Alex.    What are the characteristics of a "Sher" musician type?   Hard working avatar, dedicated to the music craft, songwriter/composer, charismatic and possessing oodles of audience rapport.   They must be committed to Second Life, and take it as seriously as anything else (yet not full of themselves).

So that would be Alex Mays and the company he keeps!   She has other favs, and if you know her, you will know them.   Just sayin' there's something special about this guy, originally from North Carolina, now Michigan-based.

Kickin' Summer into Gear

It's summer, and I have some catching up to do! I dropped in a few places to see what's shakin' - and the music scene is always lively on the grid. I just got back from hangin' in New England and the Big NYC (and not talking about Lingual's The Roof - but that was one of my first stops when coming back in town).

So here's the music scene in pics.  Last night, I dropped into The Roof's pre-4th of July party - and enjoyed the usual exceptional line-up served up by Ling.   AMFORTE Clarity was stunningly beautiful as usual, with vocal cords that will melt your soul.  It was great to see Strum Diesel, who is working on a new music project - so glad to hear that and looking forward to it!   Lazarus Doghouse, folksy talented musician/storyteller, dropped in to listen and mingle.

Porter Paquot followed AMFORTE, and was her usual amazing self and so cute in her red gown with sparklers!

Also, I had the pleasure to catch rockin' Wayne Davis (WayneDavisRocks) at Sherie's Gaslight - that was my first time hearing him -

                       
and he definitely knows his stuff, a great musician who's been around in RL and SL.



Then, tonight I listened to the fab voice of Gina Stella, while saying hello to Blueron Clyburn, who just finished his set, at TwoMoon Paradise's Mer Garden. He's back home on the East Coast, after performing at this year's Chicago jam, organized by Anek Fuchs and Gina Stella.

Gina looked lovely as mermaid, and so did Blue (see past blog). Sher is back managing Gina. TerryLynn was in the audience. And the lovely TMP Owner Shiran Sabra was on hand, lovely as ever, greeting all.

That's just a quick look around, now that I am back in SL from my RL adventure.  I caught The Follow's Powers Avon at The Roof - his shirt says it all about how busy the band has been and is!

AcousticEnergy Inducted into the SE Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame

Surprise!!!  Sher Salmson of SpiritFire Entertainment honored AcousticEnergy Nitely for reaching a 1,000 member fan base.  He was inducted into the SE Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame at Dragon Moon, owned by Sher, his manager.  The event filled the sim during the two hour event, and AE swooned his fans with his magical voice.  A special video was made by SE's Doris Fereszk in honor of AE with some of his closest friends, musicians, and associates "singing" his praises (so to speak) and then he was awarded a statue to mark this occasion.

Fans and good friends gathered to celebrate with AcousticEnergy.  Sher went all out in an elegant formal gown.

Singer/Musician Blueron Clyburn listened on in the crowd. 

The SE group gave out a teddy bear that played one of AcousticEnergy's original tunes during the event.

A Casual Friday Night

A fairy tale setting, a warm summer breeze, good people relaxing and enjoying life...accompanied by live music at Under The Willows.  Soni back at you, popping in and out of the live music scene.   Let's start with the woman in the photo below, an amazing singer herself. 

Premiere SL Music Manager Sher Salmson (above, 2nd and 3rd photo) and Venue Owner Under the Willows Precious Rallier (4th photo) love live music, and so together they created magic this Friday night - the perfect talent at the perfect intimate hide-away for music lovers.  Below, AcousticEnergy Nitely with Kenzie Kytori (Kenzie's). 

Under the Willows is a beautiful live music venue.   I arrived in the middle of AcousticEnergy's performance (wonderful as always) and stayed to hear Avant (AvantGarde Frequency, 3rd & 4th photo from bottom).   The night was mellow with acoustic ballads from AE and then some from Avant, who transitioned into some classic rock favs as well.  At one point, the audience grooved to a Beatles Medley. and later some Moody Blues.   I caught a pic of the lovely live venue owner of the same name Kenzie (Kenzie Kytori of Kenzie's) slipping in a dance with AE, who performs at regularly on her stage.  A fab night all around.   Damian Carbenell stayed around for most of the night, and of course one of SL's loveliest music manager Sher Salmson was greeting friends and fans to the exquisite venue - UNDER THE WILLOWS (owned by Precious Rallier).
