Seth Regan's Celebration of Brandy's Life - RESCHEDULED FOR JUNE 26th

Slow Bake on SL Live Radio has featured many SL musicians and among those greats is Seth Regan (formerly known as Mankind Tracer).  I have blogged him in my own columns, wrote about him for Best of SL Magazine, and attended his numerous shows, as many as I could.  Beside him through his many SL performances was his manager Brandy (Kalli Birman).  She was the go-to person, fun, friendly, helpful, and caring.    She contributed to the SL music scene, and to everyone's life in small and big ways.   She passed away last week, after having bravely battled cancer.  Her story is best shared by her longtime friend, musician Seth Regan, who will return to SL to pay tribute to her life at Key West.  Come prepared to remember the good times.   Let's honor SL music through her life, for she indeed was a big part of it.

Jot down Sunday June 26th, 2PM in your SL Calendar.  That's the rescheduled date for the 'Celebration of Life' in honor of a wonderful woman who many of us knew as core to the SL music scene.

It is times like these that Second Life is truly a community.  We are not merely icons, personas, avatars - but let us acknowledge how real and fragile we are, and how together we are a collective entity that can change the world!

Seth Regan has shared a statement on his Facebook regarding the rescheduling and the significance of this event.  Donations are welcomed to help her children.

SL Music Wrap Up This Week

Let the pics tell the story.....of SL's live music scene.
Who did you listen to this week?  Here's who I heard?

1.  The Boom Pony  (Wednesday, May 6)

Frogg Marlowe with Jaycatt Nico injected humor and good tunes into our hump day.

2.  Following Effinjay, it was Anj Gustafson (aka Andrew Deal) rocking the stage at The Boom Pony.

3.  Thursday night, James Olmos (AcousticEnergy Nitely) played cross town at the Seaside Lounge...

4.  Saturday, I caught up with the versatile "torch" singer Maveen at Key West, who sings just about every genre in her unique style...

5.  Bel and I closed out our Saturday night listening to the cover band 'The Bloody Pirates' at Off The Rails....(with the venue owner on drums for the second half)...
Kris (lead vocals) of The Bloody Pirates)

Cleo Rabini

So many choices of musicians to listen to over the course of one day to one week.  We try to vary it every week.

All and all, Bel and I finally retired for the night to get ready for my DJ show on Sunday - Slow Bake on SL Live Radio, 12-2PM SLT/PST.   Come join me at MistyFalls this Sunday or listen live online.  Bring Mom!  (In case you forgot, it is Mother's Day - give the gift of music!)

AE at Key West

Old friend, great musician AcousticEnergy Nitely (James Olmos, RL) performed at Key West to a full house.  Always a good time, and well established in SL/RL.  Just caught a great show, along with a couple of photos of him. Enjoy and check out his show, if you haven't yet.   And if you have, I don't have to tell you to do so....I saw lots of regulars in the crowd.

This Sunday at Key West Island (56, 67, 23), James streamed from California performing with a super talented woman Julene - their voices blended well. The in-between chatter was lively and fun.  Great team.  You gotta love the way AE works the crowd.  Julene is a natural too.

Bel (right) and I enjoyed the show!  Rock On, James!

See you next time old friend!

Digby Smalls at Key West

Key West with Digby Smalls, playing everything from Lady Antebellum to Nirvana to Floyd to Three Doors Down (my favorite, Let Me Be Myself), to a full house. Just a nice mellow Thursday night on the grid with the smooth sounds of Digby.

I will be adding a song (In Between Dreams) from Digby to my show Slow Bake this Saturday on BOSL-Radio. Remember you can visit me live 11am to Noon, SLT at Renaissance Galleria at the outside studios in the heart of the fashion district, but in the sky!

Gavin Zane at Key West

Gavin Zane says, he is happy to be in Second Life. He performed late Saturday evening at Key West to a full house. I especially liked his version of Jack and Diane, a Mellencamp classic. He does a mix of new and pop rock classics. Look for him on the grid, and book him through Sher Salmson, his incredibly sweet and sexy manager. Enjoy the pics!

Welcome to Soni's blog - LOL. Gavin, you have been caught in pics.
