Beautiful Sounds at Two Moon Paradise

What's this Austin gal doing in Second Life?   Her name is Lisa Marshall, and she is an incredibly talented rhythm and blues singer.   You can feel her soul vibrate through your virtual speakers.   At times, I would say she is a cross between Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin and then throw in lots of originality.    She released a solo CD "Stay Right Here" a few days ago - singing one of the songs "Hold me" from it, you can hear her range.   It's like being churched in the good old days of soulful classics.
Rosi (rosinante.vinson) from Lisa's management crew was on hand dancing.   The stage was set for autumn festivities and Two Moon Paradise is always a beautiful venue.

Lisa grew up in Virginia, spent some time in California, and ended up in Texas - and of course Second Life.  She is not only a talented singer, but a musician with several instruments to her credit.    This was my first time hearing her, and I am totally impressed.   It was on a Monday afternoon, and she livened up an otherwise ordinary work day.  Perfect day for some bluesy, soulful introspection.  Her personable style is a treat as well.   Expect lots of original tunes and a whole lot of real life in her songs. She closed out her set with "Don't Give Up" - also featured on her web site.

She has a RL CD release party on Saturday, October 27.   Event details and more about her music here....http://lisamarshallmusic.com/

Thanks to Shiran Sabra for booking her - at the lovely Two Moon Paradise.

Next up was Therese Nightfire, another extremely talented singer with an incredible vocal range.  A beautiful person with a beautiful voice - and always be sure to listen for her "LaLa" song and her lovely adaptation of Nora Jones, Adele and many contemporaries. And one of her closing tunes was done amazingly well - "I will  always love you" - acapella!

And The Beat Goes On

May is winding down, and I had an opportunity to attend an amazing show with Blueron Clyburn.  He's one of the many musicians planning to attend the Chicago Jam from June 22 to 24.  Catch some of your favorite Second Life performers jamming for you in real life - and enjoy all the fun!    The event is organized and founded by SL's Anek Fuchs and Gina Stella.

* * * As a quick side note, I also compiled some photos from some of the May shows on the grid that I didn't have a chance to blog - maybe you were there - I blogged them here on Soni Songs.

I also show some photos from Freestar Tammas' show last night.

She is an incredible talent, and joins the rank of so many top notch SL women singers like SweetLilly and AMForte (and others like Gina Stella not featured this time around).

Now back to the very blue Blueron Clyburn.  Blue (teal?) is his color as he adorns his lovely Merm-man fins.   He performed live yesterday at Two Moon Paradise's underwater venue.   It was my first time "underwater" at Two Moon, and my first time as a mermaid.  TPM is a great complex for live music and special events.

I invited Belinda Barnes to join me, and she readily was prepared, changing into something more appropriate for the event, looking lovely as always.   I slipped on my Purple Moon "mesh" mermaid gown that I purchased a couple of weeks ago and fitted it underwater as I listened to Blue.   (The thing about mesh is you are never truly nakey, just invisible, you gotta love that. No one noticed.)

All eyes were fixated on Blue at the piano.  Topless (with nothing but bubbles), he didn't miss a beat.  And his fins kept rhythm, I imagine.

Blue is wonderful at interpreting songs his way, and he's been around quite awhile as a performer in Second Life, and much longer in real life.  From New York to New Orleans, and back and then some.

Catch him finless in Chicago soon.   Tell him hi from Soni, because I will be in his neck of the woods, outside New York while he entertains ya'll in my home state.  Go figure!

Building Machines to Reach The Stars Part II

Streaming Live on Facebook while Live in SECOND LIFE!

Across the stage a banner read "Building Machines" announcing the latest album from The Follow (AJ Darkwatch bass; Powers Avon, drum; and Troy Shoreland, guitar). Two Moon Paradise hosted the album concert, and the grid was full. The beautiful vibes from the band added to the tropic surroundings. At one point, Troy told the fans that they need to realize their dreams are possible - just follow them, work toward them. He also said ask AJ how many hours he practiced along the way to get where he is - and where the band is now. He also said the meaning of the band's music has changed along the way, the lyrics change as they do. Of course, The Follow played over as usual. Look for future show dates and their new album on Amazon.com, iTunes, etc.

The Follow Debuts New Album Today in SL

Building Machines To Reach the Stars

Debut May 7, 2011, 7pm SLT at Two Moon Paradise in Second Life.
Key West, Tuesday May 24th.

Now more than ever, I would follow The Follow. This band that hails from the Heartland, and that made a stop over by my university years back is definitely the one of the coolest in attitude and lyrically on the grid and in the USA. A haunting sense of how to touch your soul and keep it real (pardon an old cliche), The Follow's new album is worth a listen, and hey freakin' wear the CD out. Not just one song - you will let this album play through over and over. See my complete review at Soni's Songs.
