Summer Travels, Real and Virtual, Let the Music Play On

Summertime fun in the virtual sound lab!

Hiya again.  I'm ready to roll again in Second Life.   It's been awhile, but all good things must come to an end - or must they?    Here's my latest travels this summer - inner and outer worlds.     I had some good times this past month, from California to Illinois to NYC and to Arizona, and then back to the Bay Area.  I actually was on the studio set of Good Morning America, waving in the audience. The studio is located in Times Square.

I missed my show, and my SL friends, but upon returning, I have made some Sansar friends.  I have my toe in the creative sands of Sansar, just attempting to wade deep enough so I stay afloat.    I have been thinking alot of what I want to create there, and definitely I want to establish a live music presence in both SL and Sansar, and perhaps every VW, right? 

I am also back to writing again about VR and VWs, mostly academic, but I plan to return to my old journalistic musings, reporting on what's trendings related to virtual culture.

I went back to my Sound Lab project (pics above) to inspire me, and I will soon be back streaming regularly.    I want to freshen up my sounds, updating my playlist with any new releases.

Second Life's 13th Anniversary Begins!

How time files!  I am not quite the teenager;  I will be 10 years old soon.  Yet, SL has been a major part of my life since I arrived in 2006.   I have dear friends here, and much of my RL work springs from here.   I have experimented with building, fashion, machinima, storytelling and journalism as well as so many forms of creativity in SL.   I have hosted a radio show for more than 6 years in Second Life.   

The official SL 13B celebration begins NOON SLT today!  Sunday, June 19th!   The actual birthday is this Thursday.  The details can be found here:  http://www.slcommunitycelebration.info/

This Sunday, I will be playing an unofficial tribute show to SL musicians who have shared their talent with us, both long-timers and newcomers.   It's another historic edition of SLOW Bake on SL Live Radio this Sunday.

Shameless Selfie Billboard

Okay, I have been talking about it, but I am going to actually do it - Buy some SL Billboard space and promote my radio show.   I have been collecting SL music for awhile, and really I think that all these great musicians should be promoted more, not just by streaming/playing their music - they need to be talked up, bragged about, as well as the venues, fans, managers, and media people that support them. I have some great ideas for billboards, give me some time.  This is just a start....

Slow Bakin' Sundays

You caught me!   Just finished up another Sunday of SL Live Radio with Soni!

Thanks all for listening today to Slow Bake.  What a fantastic show at Studio 2, and so many tuned into the station via the stream.   Some joined us from DJ Cupric's show at Journeys that precedes me, 10am-2pm SLT.   Anyway a wonderful group.   Thanks to Esme and Thorn for all their support.

I was so busy with the tunes and such, that I didn't hardly take any pics - and missed the opportunity to show your pretty avi faces on this blog.   I had a hard enough time learning how to pronounce the diversity of names of all the guests.  Come back next time, and I will be better at that.
